How We Fix It

If a door is old enough or unusual enough that the manufacturer doesn't make a matching panel anymore, that's a repair that may need to wait on a special order, or may be the point where replacing the section makes more sense than chasing a part.

The Symptom

The call usually starts the same way: "it's making a grinding noise and it's slow going up." That combination - noise plus sluggish travel - almost always means a roller riding rough in a track that's picked up surface rust, which is common given Seattle's mild climate with occasional freeze snaps and the damp air that sits on exposed steel track most of the year.
